6 things to do for the long-weekend while respecting the rules
1. Movie Night & Treats
Our favourites on Netflix: The Irishman, The Highwaymen, Baby Driver, Ozark, Better Call Saul, Life in Pieces, Dirty Money, You.
Our favourites On Crave: The Mule, Peanut Butter Falcon, OJ: Made in America,
Our Treats this weekend:
– Get some truffle oil (the small bottle at Urban Fare (is it open?) as Truffle Oil ain’t cheap!), gingerly apply it to your popcorn for the best damn snack ever
– Mini-Eggs never a bad choice!
– Swedish Fish. Nibs. Sour Patches… get that sugar in you.
– Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie dough 🙂
– Ordering Pizza from one of our local pizza shops. Click here for our favourites.
2. Decorate Easter Eggs / battle
An old Jory family tradition on the prairies, potentially stemming from Ukrainan/German ancestry. Paint a couple eggs each, use crayons, pencil crayons, paint, glue some shit on them, have some fun. Then it’s time to battle. Hold the egg in your hand so only half is showing, your egg contender does the same, then take turns tapping each other. The egg that cracks is the loser, winner advances to next round !
3. Family Cook-Off
Suggested format:
– Family with two spouses, two kids – each parent teams up with a kid to research a meal, collect ingredients and compete on taste
– Family with two spouses, one kid – 2 on 1 !
– Family with one spouse, numerous kids – pick your favourite kid and team up against the other HA-HA JK, kind of.
– Flying solo? Make cookies – and eat some of the cookie dough ! You probably earned it this week 🙂

5. Games
Board Games (Personal favourites) – Telestrations, Clue, Monopoly, Life, Jenga, Cribbage
Online/Smartphone (Personal Favourites) – Heads up, Spaceteam,
Virtual Beer Pong – at one end of the table you set up your competitions cups and your computer set up for streaming with your friend. At your end of the table you have your cups. Play like you normally do – trash talk, house rules….
6. Draw
Draw whatever the hell you want; be creative or put your own spin on something that already exists. Also… this is pretty cool, Disney animator Michael Woodside is also hosting a daily drawing class where he teaches people how to draw Disney characters. Click here for the Disney Painting classes.
Of course, Bob Ross is the ultimate painting experience. Highly recommended!
